Everton started badly last season – two wins and a draw from the opening five games. So far this season they have won one from the first four and sit in the relegation zone. Blackburn broke their duck last Saturday with a 3-1 win over Wolves – the first time they have scored three goals since January.
Phil Jagielka and Mikael Arteta are long-term absentees and they have been joined on the sidelines by Phil Neville, who suffered knee ligament damage at Fulham last Sunday. Blackburn, who check Benni McCarthy and Steven Nzonzi, are unbeaten in their last four League meetings with Everton.
