In the Premier League Arsenal face Fulham at four o'clock where a win could reduce the gap between them and the league leaders.
As it stands the gap is nine points between Arsenal in seventh place and Chelsea at the top, and winning at Fulham would make it three wins in a row for Wenger's men.
The Arsenal boss has also been boosted by the return of Theo Walcott and Andre Arshavin to his squad.
He said "We are very pleased because Arshavin gives us an attacking option that is
always very interesting and away from home he's always very efficient as well."
He added "He's a guy who turns up at the right moment and can always create chances or score himself."
Fulham will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing in the Carling cup to Manchester City and losing their last league game 2-1 to Premiership new boys Wolves.
Wenger though, thinks Hodgson has done a good job at Fulham and believes he would be a good candidate for the Great Britain manager's job, at the next Olympics.
"Look at his CV...I believe he has been at the top level for a long time. That's the most difficult."
The Cottagers lie in fourteenth place going into Saturday's game, three points behind Arsenal, but they are missing some key players.
They will be without striker Andrew Johnson, Erik Nevland and Toni Kallio, while Simon Davies picked up a foot injury in the defeat to Manchester City.
Arsenal's goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is ruled out with a chest infection so Vito Mannone looks set to play in goal. The Gunners will also be without Samir Nasri and Denilson.
